“When you are feeling down as you call it, block out any thoughts of the week ahead or whatever is making you feel down – for example, going to the dentist or a dull job you have to do. Detach yourself from anything futurely and concentrate on the now. What are you enjoying now? Are you enjoying the ride in the car? Are you enjoying the comfort of your body? Is there a pretty view? Do you love your dog? Who loves you? Think such things.
All thoughts of a chore ahead will drain you of your energy for the now. You will spoil your enjoyment of it with thoughts of the future. The depression you feel is actually the energy-less of squandered energy whereas you could feel charged with energy if you desisted from your fruitless agitation.
Go and enjoy the now.”
