Sometimes the spiritual path can feel lonely. You might feel you are walking through a cold inhospitable valley.
It feels like that because you aren’t in the warm sun on the ridge.
The valley is also part of the path. Along the way, there will still be small flowers, a comfortable rock to sit on, a crevice that keeps out the wind where you can stay for a while.
And often, someone else will join you on the path. If they feel hopeless, point to the sun on the ridge. If they are cold, let them share your crevice. If they are looking for beauty, but can’t find it, show them the little flowers.
In this way you can share the little gifts you have found yourself.
And some sun might shine for you.
